Music Magazine :)

After creating a college magazine, i have to create a music magazine, to achieve this i must do a photo shoot and use props and lighting. The type of lights i have to use are Redheads and they can be danger and must follow the health and safety rules.
Health and Safety - Using Redheads
- Emtremely fragile, so when transporting use the bag and padding. Do not knock them, 2 people should carry them.
- HOT! Take extreme care when handling the lights
- Do not cover them with anything
- do not look directly into the lights
- Switch off when not is use
- The bulb are very expensive and break very easily extreme care should be taken
- Tape down the cables

College Magazine :)

Front Cover

Before i could do my music magazine, i had to create a college magazine. i created this magazine using photoshop, which is a graphic editting program. This program is used  for media editing, animation, and authoring.

Before i could start my magazine i had to get some photos that i thought would be creative and would sell my magazine if i was selling it. The shoot i decided to use was a mid- shot. I think this shot is perfect to use in a magazine especially on a front cover because you are able to see the emotion on her face, but it is not too close so it gives you room to see the background and also it makes the writing around the image stand out. I editting the image so that the top right hand conner was really light so my masthead stood out. Also i changed the contrast so the light colours were bright and the darker colours stood out to match my masthead.

I decided to call my college magazine 'Prior' because i thought it was simple and straight to the point. The college is called Prior Pursglove and it is easy to remember and stands out. My masthead is black so that it stands out cover the light background, also i thought it matched the outfit of the model. i decided to do my achor red and black because the theme of the magazine is Halloween, and the red stands out and the black matchs with the black. Because my model had a white top on, i thought that i needed to add some white in my achor so i did my menu strip white. I think only using 3 colours means that the magazine cover all ties in together, and i think all 3 colours thats i used also tied into the Halloween theme.

I also created my contents page on photoshop. i wanted to carry on the Halloween theme that i had on my front cover.
The image i took wasnt that dark but i wanted the contrast so that the foreground was really dark and the background was light i achieved this by changing the contrast and the brightness of the image. i think this made my image more powerful almost as if the light was trapped behind the gravestone. I wanted the gravestone to be almost black then have my model standing out with bright white sleeves and red hair. I thought that this image was perfect to use for my theme, with the black, white and red following from my front cover and using the gravestone. I alos think it follows the same theme as my front cover, as in both images you can see the leaves on the floor, indercating that it is auturm.
So that my writing blended with my image i decided to use white for my writing so that it stood out infront of all the black and also so that it matched the sleeves of the model. Also using white meant that it would stand out.
