Music Magazine :)

After creating a college magazine, i have to create a music magazine, to achieve this i must do a photo shoot and use props and lighting. The type of lights i have to use are Redheads and they can be danger and must follow the health and safety rules.
Health and Safety - Using Redheads
- Emtremely fragile, so when transporting use the bag and padding. Do not knock them, 2 people should carry them.
- HOT! Take extreme care when handling the lights
- Do not cover them with anything
- do not look directly into the lights
- Switch off when not is use
- The bulb are very expensive and break very easily extreme care should be taken
- Tape down the cables

College Magazine :)

Front Cover

Before i could do my music magazine, i had to create a college magazine. i created this magazine using photoshop, which is a graphic editting program. This program is used  for media editing, animation, and authoring.

Before i could start my magazine i had to get some photos that i thought would be creative and would sell my magazine if i was selling it. The shoot i decided to use was a mid- shot. I think this shot is perfect to use in a magazine especially on a front cover because you are able to see the emotion on her face, but it is not too close so it gives you room to see the background and also it makes the writing around the image stand out. I editting the image so that the top right hand conner was really light so my masthead stood out. Also i changed the contrast so the light colours were bright and the darker colours stood out to match my masthead.

I decided to call my college magazine 'Prior' because i thought it was simple and straight to the point. The college is called Prior Pursglove and it is easy to remember and stands out. My masthead is black so that it stands out cover the light background, also i thought it matched the outfit of the model. i decided to do my achor red and black because the theme of the magazine is Halloween, and the red stands out and the black matchs with the black. Because my model had a white top on, i thought that i needed to add some white in my achor so i did my menu strip white. I think only using 3 colours means that the magazine cover all ties in together, and i think all 3 colours thats i used also tied into the Halloween theme.

I also created my contents page on photoshop. i wanted to carry on the Halloween theme that i had on my front cover.
The image i took wasnt that dark but i wanted the contrast so that the foreground was really dark and the background was light i achieved this by changing the contrast and the brightness of the image. i think this made my image more powerful almost as if the light was trapped behind the gravestone. I wanted the gravestone to be almost black then have my model standing out with bright white sleeves and red hair. I thought that this image was perfect to use for my theme, with the black, white and red following from my front cover and using the gravestone. I alos think it follows the same theme as my front cover, as in both images you can see the leaves on the floor, indercating that it is auturm.
So that my writing blended with my image i decided to use white for my writing so that it stood out infront of all the black and also so that it matched the sleeves of the model. Also using white meant that it would stand out.

PICTURE DAYY (L)

This shot is a full body shot that is taking at a slight angle. We decided to stand at a height so that our bodies were centre of the shot.  We set the camera to self timer.

This shot is a high angle shot; we decided to sit down in this shot so that the camera angle seemed higher. This is almost a bird’s eye view shot.

   

This shot is a close up on my face. You can very clearly see the expression on my face. I think the shot could have been a little lower to cut out the ceiling and have half my body in maybe creating a mid shot







This picture adds the effect that Lauren (front) is taller than Beth (back). This is due to the angle that the photo was taken. The photo was taken at a lower point creating this effect.

Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole's style represents her music through her style, becuase her style is young, classy and very popular which is the same as her music. This has a big affect because people who like Cheryl for her style buy into her music and also her lifestyle. She is now one of the most loved people in England, yet only has 3 hit singles to her name. The X factor and very open marriage to footballer Ashey Cole, has boosted her image and also made her more popular than her music. Not saying her music isnt very good, its just her image is more popular than her music.

HAYLEY WILLIAMS.

Hayley Williams is the lead singer of the American pop-rock band Paramore, which formed in 2004 and are doing extremely well. With 3 amazing albums and sold out tours all over the world. Hayley is very much the face of the band and the most recognised of the band, because a lot of people who don’t know the band well may not be able to recognise any other members of the band. They just know her face; therefore she needs to make a statement for the band and herself.  Hayley is recognised by her extreme change in hair   colours and styles as you can see; pink, blonde, red, orange, and yellow. As you can see over 3 years her style has changed so much. i think her style has calmed down, i think when they first started out she wanted to make a statement, but now they are known for their amazing music, she has calmed it down alot.

Also with a vary of styles in some photos she looks very girly and other photos she looks more rebellion and especially with her nose piercing.  Also she applies through her looks; she has won Kerrang Sexiest Female in 2008 and 2009.

Along side been in Paramore Hayley has done some solo work. She wrote and sang the song ‘Teenagers’ for the film Jennifer’s Body. Also she has a number 1 hit with B.O.B - Airplanes.

Music Magazines - Paramore!

I think the age range for Kerrang magazine is the teenage years. I think the gender of the magazine is unisex because I think it depends on the main artist featured in the magazine, with this magazine having Paramore as the front image I think it is aimed more at the teenage girls. But also to boys because Hayley Williams is very popular with both her female and male fans. The photo covers the full front cover showing that it is a popular. You can see by the picture that the feauture is aimmed at Hayley herself than just with the band in general. All the colours seem to have a dull over lay on them, this connotes maybe they will be talking about the duller and darker times of been in one of the biggest pop-rock bands of the century.

Day 1

This is my first day on my new blog, i have made this blog because it is part of something i am doing on my media course :)
